Yacht marketing falls behind because the people who know the boats are also the ones selling, chartering and looking after them. Most yacht businesses are small teams. Marketing happens in bursts - a few weeks of posts after a boat show, then nothing for two months because everyone’s busy.
I know how that goes. Charters are a ton of work, and between guests, maintenance and weather calls there wasn’t much time left over for writing blog posts at Sophisticated Yachting either.
The audience doesn’t make it easier. Yacht buyers and owners are a small group who know their stuff. Stock-photo blogs and generic posts don’t land with them, and they can tell when the person writing has never run a boat. What most yacht businesses need is a way to turn what they already know into marketing that goes out every week without eating the week.
